چکیده
Glutamine has been used to treat canine patients with parvoviral enteritis. However, little is known about the effect of L-alanyl-L-glutamine (Ala-Gln) supplementation in dogs The objective this study was determine whether Ala-Gln can improve dog survival and ameliorate clinical signs without adverse effects. We conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 39 client-owned dogs. were randomly assigned two groups administered either an solution (Dipeptiven, 0.4 g/kg, n = 20) or equivalent volume placebo (n 19) orally twice daily. Of dogs, 17 vaccinated 9 Ala-Gln-treated group – group). All received standard treatment while hospitalized. monitored according scoring system evaluated diagnostically daily for 11 days. Survival rates both quantified using Kaplan‒Meier curves statistically compared log-rank test. total score did not differ between groups, except on day 2. differed significantly (p=0.038). Three (15.0%) died during study, whereas eight (42.1%). No effects found be associated treatment. Oral administration improves enteritis causing

Supplementation with L-Glutamine and L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine Changes Biochemical Parameters and Jejunum Morphophysiology in Type 1 Diabetic Wistar Rats.
We evaluated the effects of the supplementation with L-glutamine and glutamine dipeptide (GDP) on biochemical and morphophysiological parameters in streptozotocin-diabetic rats. For this purpose, thirty animals were distributed into six groups treated orally (gavage) during thirty days: non diabetic rats (Control) + saline, diabetic + saline; Control + L-glutamine (248 mg/kg), Diabetic + L-glut...
متن کاملL-Alanyl-Glutamine Attenuates Oxidative Stress in Liver Transplantation Patients.
BACKGROUND Ischemia/reperfusion injury during liver transplantation can cause severe damage to the graft. The objective of this randomized, double-blind study was to evaluate the possible protective effects of L-alanyl-glutamine on the liver graft. METHODS The sample included 33 patients from a liver transplantation service in Northeastern Brazil. Before cold ischemia, the patients received 5...
متن کاملIntestinal renal metabolism of L-citrulline and L-arginine following enteral or parenteral infusion of L-alanyl-L-[2,15N]glutamine or L-[2,15N]glutamine in mice.
Previously, we observed increased plasma arginine (ARG) concentrations after glutamine (GLN)-enriched diets, in combination with clinical benefits. GLN delivers nitrogen for ARG synthesis, and the present study was designed to quantify the interorgan relationship of exogenous L-GLN or GLN dipeptide, by enteral or parenteral route, contributing to intestinal citrulline (CIT) and renal de novo AR...

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of L-alanyl-L-glutamine (AG) ingestion on basketball performance, including jump power, reaction time, shooting accuracy and fatigue. METHODS Ten women (21.2 ± 1.6 years; height: 177.8 ± 8.7 cm; body mass: 73.5 ± 8.0 kg), all scholarship NCAA Division I basketball players, volunteered for this study. Subjects participated in fou...
